Art in Scale: Railcar Breda Metre gauge (ΣΘ./ΣΒΔΕ) 1/87

Postby kostas_bakelas » Fri Jan 15, 2016 10:48 pm

Hello my dear friends,
after a whole year of sketching, prototype building, developing and designing, I'm finally in position to share with you my 3 version models of the HOm Breda Aln669T that has been rolling for nearly half a century in the greek narrow gauge networks of Thessaly and the network of ΣΒΔΕ (the then Northwestern Railway network).
My model is created to represent all three versions: The original italian, the blue/vermont of the SBDE and the Blue/White/Red/Yellow Thessalian one.

Soon I will upload photos and videos of this project :D

Thank you

Very good news Kostas,

It is always nice to see new models and I look forward seeing the photos. Will you be announcing the pricing and availability of your models or do you prefer people to email you or send you a pm to find out?

Hi Christo,

thank you very much for your welcome! I am also glad to be here with all you people :D
As far as the pricing is concerned, I would like all people interested in my models to pm me or email me directly!
Generally speaking, under normal situation 2 weeks (10 working days) delivery time is a standard. Delivery time varies of course depending on the amount of work carried out in the specific moment, the finacial situation that might cause problems in ordering some parts - particularly those that drive the model mechanically.

For further assistance do not hesitate to contact me again :D
Thank you in advance

Dear Kostas,

welcome. I have been watching your project from time to time (as I am not on facebook) and I am quite impressed. I find that you have truly brought something new on the small market of "Hellenic train models" and I congratulate you for that.

Please do not be offended with my view and think that this is malicious advertisement for you to ruin your work. This is my pesonal opinion only as a customer (not neccessarily your customer).

As far as the pricing is concerned, I would like all people interested in my models to pm me or email me directly!

I find this a "no go". It is your choiche, should you wish that, but for me that I was cosidering to buy a powered one has put me off. Transparency is I think a good trade moto that everybody should have. As I said, it is your choice and if you want it like that it is fine for me but as an open forum I am allowed to say my opinion.

Sorry for starting the commenting with a little bit of criticism. May you have every success in your venture!

Kind Regards
Andreas

Dear Andreas,

Thank you very much for your feedback and your point of view which is - and will always be - really welcome.

The fact that I do not openly mention prices has to do with the following one single reason:

Some years ago, I posted in another forum (bike spare parts related forum to be more exact) a price about something I would like to sell. Although this action was indeed encouraged by the respective administrators, it turned out to be an incident, that triggered a fight and converted my post into an "arena" between the openly pricing supporters and their rivals. Others, put the blame on me for giving a price openly, whereas others encouraged that. After this incident, I decided that the best way to be on the safe side (better safe than sorry), is to pm. or getting pmed by someone directly, if this has to do with a money symbol before, or after the number. If someone can really reassure me that nothing like that will happen in the future at all, then I'll promise that I will post a full price list with all options, all add-ons for all models and creations I've created so far.

So, my not mentioning any price is rather a move towards protecting myself from potentional "foul-ups", rather than trying to hide something, or avoiding transparency as you correctly mention in your posting.

Thanks again for your comment.

Kwsta,
The choice of mentioning a price or not is entirely yours and yours alone. There would be NO recriminations on that. Members are allowed to voice their opinions on products and services but they are obviously not permitted to slander. Sometimes the dividing line between the two sides is very fine that is why such discussions (hint hint) should end up in the "small talk" topic.

Andrea,
You have a convincing point on your expectations as a customer on pricing. By not offering it publicly the producer may create an impression of operating different prices for friends, for foes, for supporters of their favourite football team etc. I have decided therefore, at the first opportunity of asking, to make ALL my prices public, that is those that they are not so already.

The fat Controller.

Kosta,

thank you for your polite answer. I see your point. I would wish that you consider otherwise.

Now. Questions. I am perplexed on how many version you have made. It would be easier to understand if you put a photograph of each model with a very short description e.g. "SVDE model in original brown livery, 1952-1975". It would help some people in the desicion because currently I do not understand, which is what.

Furthermore....a picture of the interiors? Halling motorbogie?

Kind Regards
