OSE N2 lowside wagons 317 0 000-173

These old lowside wagons were originally built in two batches in 1926 and 1929 by Ringhoffer in Czechoslovakia and Baume et Marpent in Belgium. Under OSE, the two survivors of both series were lumped together, classified Klmmo or Klmmo-v and numbered 317 0 000-173, details as follows:

Ringhoffer 1926 - SEK M 16551-16800, OSE Klmmo - unbraked wagons.
Baume et Marpent 1929 - SEK Μπτ 16801-16900, OSE Klmmo-v - handbrake fitted?

The photos show Ringhoffer-built vehicles, any photos of Baume et Marpent wagons out there?

Another wagon seen at Inoi in 2005 - its SEK number is within the range of Ringhoffer-built wagons but it's classisifed N1 rather than N2 - anyone know why?

Thanks for that Panagiotis, it did rather look as though it might never move again - I like these rather antiquated wagons, unbraked and check out those open frame buffers too!

Ringhoffer cars M 16551-16800 total delivered 250 wagons wheelbase 4.5m LOB 8.85m
Marpent cars Mπτ 16801-16875 total delivered 75 wagons wheelbase 4m LOB 8.90m. The τ indicates brake cabin or a brake platform. According to 80's registers it was a cabin.

OK, according to my list by the time OSE renumbered them there were 30 (130?) of the Ringhoffers left and 42 Baume et Marpents.

1984 list shows 42 Belgian and 131 Czechoslovakian.

But we still have not seen a picture with a wagon with a brake cabin.

i was out for a wagon safari


Yes, the Belgian ones had a braking hut .... i 've photographed one of them at Gazoros ... but i 'm not home and i don't have the photos with me, so maybe tomorrow.

Also, i 'm not 100% that the Belgians are built by Baume et Marpent (at least all of them) - last time i believed that the Belgian Z1s were also built by Baume Marpent i found out that they were wrong .... so .... i can't be sure.

Tim, about the N1s i can't remember why they are not N2 but i can search when i return, but sometimes just random changes happen.... especially at meter gauge wagons, so maybe its something like that.

Finally about the Ringhoffer ones, i have only found wagons that are built at Koprivnice, but possibly some of the rest have been built at Smichov.



P.S.: I would had checked if that Belgian N2 i had found was built by Baume et Marpent but i couldn't find even the OSE number due to the weeds which had passed over the wagon.
