Spanish Railways. RENFE, FEVE and others

Postby BalkanExpress » Wed Aug 27, 2014 8:34 pm

Hi to all members,

well...I was expecting to begin with lots of steam and diesel, old pictures and so on...but...other pictures stay waiting and never apears..so, lets start

Some pictures from Utrera station, in the southern line from Seville to Cádiz, 50 km far from Seville south. Utrera is terminal for locar trains. It keeps the old Andaluces' old company 1st class building and canopies in a renovated track and platforms for local services. Some flavour still there. New CIVIAs EMUs (CIVIA is a concept of an ampliable EMU in which you can add to the basic unit as much cars as you need for a specific line) are the main stock you can find, although, other clasical unit can appears...

Now I''m working in the new High Speed Line to Cádiz, south from this station, to be finished in various phases, in March 2015

Let's see some pictures and sorry for the 'ethernal' waiting...

Good afternoon to al members,

Spanish railways has lead into a policy of standarization, so the colourfull railway plenty of diesels (same as yours) and riveted electrics has definetively gone. Well, good weather and powerfull colour (clean and beautiful ones) make us still watch some meauty pictures.

Alicante terminus station, in eastern Spain, is the oldest terminus in Spain. The ancient MZA (Madrid to Zaragoza and Alicante) railway was the first huge company (previous little iniciatives were held, but not so powerfull) to develop a railway network that gets from Barcelone (north east Spain) to Seville, in souther Spain, getting in competence with Norte (North) Railways in decisive points and cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, where, different lines were constructed to enter and no to coincide and share tracks.

Nowadays, High Speed Line arrived to Alicante, so ancient terminus (buiding and canopy) were kept and platforms and tracks rebuilt to get the new High Speed consists.

Please, notice than in Spain we still have two gauges: the'international' one (1435mm) and the 'broad Spanish' one (1668 mm). New (mostly all) high Speed lines are built in Standart 1435 mm gauge, so you can find in terminals such a variety of material

Foto1425.jpg
Two new Vossloh 334 serie diesel locos. These 'light' locos were constructed to pull the ultra light and tilting Talgo branches, so higher speeds can be reached in conventional and old lines

Foto1427.jpg
The 'ancient' 100 serie High Speed EMU bound to Madrid. These trains were constructed as a variation of the french TGV Atlantique EMUs, with rounded pointed 'nose' and other better facilities between France (Alsthom-La Rochelle) and Spain (CAF-Zaragoza; MACOSA-Madrid)

Foto1428.jpg
The new 130 serie High Speed EMU, developed to change gauge in bogies directly without stoping. They can make transversal trains from north to south, entering and leaving high speed lines in standart gauge, so trip time are reduced drasticly

That's all folks, tomorrow, more Alicante stock or other pictures will come

Regards

Old rockers never die

Here, our RENFE`s DL500 'World' locomotives 1600 serie (similar, but not the same as your A301 - A310 ALCO) in his second life as tool machine in a contractor train.

SANY0034BIS.jpg
RENFE's ex 1608 working in a COMSA's contractor train. Antequera station, in the southern line Bobadilla-Granada. 2010

As you can see, main diferences are rotation of front lights, no front multiple unit plug un the rounded part of the nose, diferente step position in the front skirt...)

It gives me a question to TEE1055 about his transformation of his Electrotren's RENFE 1800 and the front light. I'm transforming one and I've some questions to solve

Enjoy

Hi to all you,

Some pictures from the Seville to Cadiz high speed line works with locomotives and contractors machines. Hope you'll enjoy altought taken with my 'real' shell phone

Foto1029.jpg
RENFE's 319, 3rd subserie (ex 1900) serie in a ballast train. Those locomotives has been bought by some contractors (as TECSA in this picture) for work trains. RENFE's 1900 diesel locomotive were the most numerous diesel locomotive in the network. Rebuilt into 2nd and 3rd subserie, using some parts (bogies, engines...) algo give way to the numerouns and complete 3rd subserie

Foto1621.jpg
Some independient operators has bought some RENFE's 319 serie for freight traffic. Those operators are link to some railway contractors as seen in this picture. Here, in a weigjt test on a bridge on Seville-Cadiz high Speed line
