The colours are awful, due to a slide onto paper, then a scan of the paper print. The real wagon was the usual OSE brown.

I wonder whether anyone has any pictures of these in England ?

Before posting this I checked to see whether there was already on topic on these, and only found OSE H1 & H2 Livestock Wagons. H1 it is, but it's not a livestock wagon. :?

The H used to signify Livestock wagons. Anyway, it looks identical to the UNRRA Z1 like this viewtopic.php?f=13&t=91

The letter ''H'' was used to mark ''SPECIAL'' vehicles, but nearly all of them were livestock wagons (what we know as Ηπτ, Ητ, Η, H2 etc).

The H1s were identical to the Z1s as soon as the H1s were converted from the Z1s.

I know that the H before WWII was used for ΚΛΟΥΒΑΙ which translates cages. Cages were Livestock wagons. Jason, what evidence is there that other "special" wagons could carry the H classification?

According to some OSE lists (around 1970 - if i remember well) with explanations for each one of the letters it sais that «H : ΕΙΔΙΚΑΙ ΦΟΡΤΑΜΑΞΑΙ» and the H1s are described as ''βρετανικού περιτυπώματος'' or something simillar.

''βρετανικού περιτυπώματος''

It translates as British loading gauge, which by the way was narrower than the one used in Continental Europe. However the Italian fridges viewtopic.php?f=13&t=212 were built to the British loading gauge (for Greek exports like fruit to Britain) and they carried the Ψ1 classification.
