Thx Christo for the post!

I would like to raise here the question of the pre-SEK liveries of those old engines. Pic 1 is a builder view, but the livery is not the standard grey 'photographic'. We can guess that in JSC times the Zγ was probably carrying a non-black livery, and later in SEK days it was painted in the typical Black/Red/Brass.

We can also guess that when SEK were formed, one of the first things they did was to repaint the inherited locos in that scheme; apparently, nobody remembers any loco in a livery other that Black with red wheels and gears and polished brass...

Does anybody have a hint on those old liveries?

Iossif, concerning liveries, I read somewhere some railwayman’s account that the only deviation from the black was SEK Ια, which was a deep purple (melintzani = aubergine colour).
