SNCF 141R in Greece

Good morning to all,

I wont make a big introduction into the topic. I have a question concerning the modeling part. I Greece there were 4 141R assigned between the end of 1973 till mid 1974 from the Depot of Narbonne. The running numbers were

1123
1124
1141
1144

all had boxpok wheels and were oil fired.

Now, my question....I just got a brand new Jouef 141R at a bargain and I need custom made plates for one of the running number. Does anybody know if a french producer makes them (I looked at AMF but only has decals and not the number that I want) to order? If not maybe Balkamodels?

Hi everyone,

Far from me the very idea of competing with Christo, but I found a french manufacturer who can supply 141R number plates with any number...

The company name is Interfer and they have an email address interfer@sfr.fr

Based on my own experience with french companies, if anybody wants to write to them, I'd strongly recommend to write in french...

I'll contact them myself and if I have any news I'll post them here.

Hi Folks,

Sorry for the delay in my reaction; the company producing the number plates is a one-man business, and as such it is quite difficult to reach on the phone.

I finally managed to call him this afternoon; I enquired for plates for all 4 141Rs that came to Greece, i.e. 1123, 1124, 1141 and 1144. He gave me a quote of 80 Euros for the 4 complete sets (Engine + Tender + SNCF Brass plate) i.e. 20 Euros/set.

He said that he could make a discount for a group order; so, if anybody is interested, please let me know within the next few days, so that I may contact him for a quote.

I forgot to mention that he is located a few miles from my place...almost cycling distance!
