Both photos off the internet showing the same unidentified Εγ over a bridge. Please help me with the source of these photo so we can credit them correctly.

Thanks Christo for the new posts!

Pix 1 and 2 have already been the subject of a long discussion in Drehscheibe. The conclusion reached was that the engine shown is probably a JZ series 20, mainly because there is no record that the Eγ were ever coupled to a 4-wheel tender. Now, this is obviously a wartime pic (hence the 'V') and any combination may have occurred... any update is welcome!

I have posted myself Pic 3 quite a while ago; the pic comes from the OSE Bureau of Public Relations, and it has also been the subject of a lengthy discussion with SEK/OSE staff. The main issue was the 'Th' marking, which according to a retired SEK driver, indicated 'Theben' and not 'Thessaloniki'. Apparently, the Germans had built a huge marshalling yard at the Thiva Station, which included a reversing triangle. The yard has been destroyed, but the trace of the triangle was visible until recently in aerial pix. The engine itself does not show any bomb damage, its state suggests decaying through abandonment rather.. The same source added that the yard was built by Jewish prisoners before they were deported.

I searched Google Maps for any visible trace of that yard, without success; anyway, the site has been occupied for years by a Gypsy camp, therefore all traces may have been obliterated (hence the nickname "Gyftenburg" for Thebes among OSE staff!!)

I don't know the origin of Pic 4...

Any update or correction is of course more than welcome!
