Unfortunately no BDZ coaches travel down here anymore, though three of them formed the PTG special train with rail fans from the UK.
Yesterday they were in Athens and travelled from Athens station to the airport and back powered by A326 and A302.

Good morning to all members,

I've seen those pictures in other webs about that PTG special train

Why did they used the BDZ coaches...did the trip started in Bulgaria?

Did the PTG asked for both A303 and A326 as historic locos for the train?

Would like to know more about that trip...

regards

BalkanExpress

Well, I mean the Facebook profiles talking about Greek trains and so on.

Supose all you know them. And perhaps will be a good idea to open (in the apropiate place) a topic about webs and Facebook profiles of greek and balkan modelling, so we can follow it easily

I'm not sure but I think the Brits started at Sofia and travelled all the way down here.
I didn't have time to find out, I've only seen the photos at the fb too.
Actually I had no idea all this was happening, it has been almost 3 months that I had not logged to fb...

But yesterday was my lucky day ;)
About 8:10, I'm driving back home having just executed the daily early morning routine.
As it was one of those of-work days I was seriously thinking to pay a visit at Inoi...
That's when I met my good neighbour Niko Kantiris heading to the station with all the equipment at the backpack :D

Best way to know is to follow Phil's account https://www.facebook.com/philip.wormald
for those that have no account I copy his tody post...

"Final day of our tour, A-451 from Kalambaka - Thessaloniki and then big MX636 power with A-504 to Kulata. A-504 being famous as one of the very few locomotives in the world that has sailed across the Atlantic Ocean three times as it was the first of the NREC rebuilt locomotives which was carried out in USA"
