These particular wagons used to be lowsided wagons with three wooden planks, but these were removed at a later stage. Please note that these wagons had a spine consisting of two parallel metal truss rods along the underside. There were others without the truss rods but they were 20cm shorter and belonging to another class.
Series numbers 216002-3 and 216501-609.
58 wagons still remaining in OSE registers in 1980's

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1993 in Adendron (or Sindos). Wagons Mφπ 216571 and Mφπ 216552. It was a part of a rail carrying train with many other "antique" wagons. It was one very lucky day but I will need to open another topic in order to tell you the whole story.

Here's one in more or less original condition in use as a crane runner at Rentis in 2005

There was also another one, not photographed, Μφπ 216549.

Thanks Tim,

That is absolutely right. The wagons with the truss rods (as in your photo) had 8 side supports and 2 corner ones. The wagons wiithout the truss rods apart from being 20cm shorter, they had 12 side supports and 2 corner ones.

According to what i've found by searching 3 of these flatbeds, they all were built in 1945 and not 1944. At least the two of them were built by P.-S.C.M. COMPANY but OF COURSE, as soon as we are talking about rehabilitation vehicles we CAN NOT be sure about anything and we can't exlude anything. Possibly other builders who may have built some of the wagons are the ones that built the P6 tankers too: A.C.C. (AMERICAN CAR COMPANY) and C.A.T.C. and possible years of construction, 1942-1944.

Also that 216529 (U.N.R.R.A. number 5346) which is used as a flatbed of the ''AMERICAN'' crane Τφπ 18955 is classified as Μοφπ and not Μφπ.

Jason, Shame about the scrapped wagon, but a very rare view of the underside including the the two truss rods, handbrake, etc. Here is the difference between the two low sided wagons.

Hi to all,

Since i saw yesterday the plans of the flatbeds wagons 1944 built, the Fleischmann's gondola, usually seen in initiation set, came to me, as easy and cheap to get model.

Low side wagon type TP, Fleischmann

There are sustancial differences, but easyly (and cheap) to solve. The wooden sides and profiles can be done easyly as a friend of mine (brass model constructor) told to me.

Due to what I can see in plans, I've the doubt about the underframe strings. It seem to start underframe but not in the sides as in the model. Could anybody halp me?

Regards

Andy, it looks to be quite suitable for the N7, let's have a closer look at it as Tasos is already preparing the decals...

I was really amazed reading again the older posts!!!! :o
Have a look at Christo's 1993 photo at the top... Mφπ 216571 and Mφπ 216552 were still hanging around with the same load 20 years later!!!
