These goods wagons called EPIKOURA in Greek (it translates assistance) were transformed inside with offices and desks for staff. I do not know if they were constructed like this in Romania or if they were adapted in Greece. They were a regular sight behind loco hauled passenger trains till about 2000. Then they went out of use.

Is that Romanian Z5 the one that PIKO reproduced (as Z3) or close to that?

The piko model represents Z3 154 4 046-1 which makes it one of the 1974 Romanian wagons. The Z5 is almost identical in leading dimensions to a Z3 but has visual differences. It has 13 ribs instead of 7 of the Piko model and the 8 windows hung lower.

Alphatrains made a Z5 (in 3 running numbers). The ribs are still wrong 15 (instead of 13) and the windows still too high.

BUT I personally still regard both models as very very good.
